In observance of April being Child Abuse Awareness Month, this month’s Centralia Chamber of Commerce luncheon featured presentations from representatives of local organizations dedication to the education, health, and overall wellbeing of area youths.
Wednesday’s lunch was hosted and catered by Simply Soul, in the restaurant’s new 548 N. Poplar location, and was attended by over 50 chamber members.
Those presenting at the lunch were Michaela Wharton, Executive Director of The Amy Center; Chris Becker, Superintendent of Centralia City Schools; Joshua Favors, Director of Youth Programs with the Centralia Community Youth Center, Reverend Wendy Shuffett of Foundation Church and Foster Kairos, Jessica Palazzolo, Coordinator with the Marion County Child Abuse Prevention Coalition, and Shae Campanella, Regional Director of The Restore Network.
Each presenter spoke on their organization’s function, mission, and scope of services, ranging from children’s activities and programs, education, foster care services, preventing abuse, and trauma-based counseling and services.
The Chamber wishes to thank these organizations for their service to our community and to our region.
