Centralia’s history lives in photographs, everyday objects, and the stories passed from one generation to the next. The Centralia Area Historical Museum, located at 240 South Locust Street, brings those pieces together across three floors of exhibits.
The museum preserves materials related to Centralia and the surrounding region, giving residents and visitors a way to explore the people, industries, and events that shaped the area.
Exhibits include local sports, community professionals, radio history, and the No. 5 Mine Disaster. The museum also houses the Dr. George Ross Library and Archives, adding a resource for those interested in local research.
Beyond the exhibits, its speaker series and special programs provide opportunities to hear more about the area’s past and connect with others interested in history.
