MOLENHOUR POWER EQUIPMENT SEEKS BUILDING EXPANSION
Molenhour Power Equipment will be a featured exhibitor and have a large display at the 2025 Home & Community Expo, held March 29 and 30 at Fairview Park Plaza.
Though still a relatively young business, Molenhour Power Equipment in Salem has quickly risen as a go-to resource for outdoor power supplies and repair services.
From enhancing its inventory and brand certifications to expanding its location at 1706 E. Main Street, owners Angel and Gerald Molenhour are constantly looking for new ways to enhance their business.
“We have done a ton,” said Angel. “We totally remodeled the inside of our building. If people haven’t been here in the last four years, they will be shocked when they come in. We would like to add on, too. Our electricians are giving us an estimate for a grant, and if we get the grant, we will add on to our parts room a little bit to our showroom.”
A proud dealer of Exmark and Gravely mowers, Molenhour Power Equipment continues to expand its stock.
“We are an Exmark and Gravely dealer, and just got STIHL last year, which we are very excited about. We are also a Kubota Engine and Honda Engine certified dealer. We cover a lot of things,” Angel explained. “That’s all done through trainings. Our technicians have been to the Exmark Factory in Nebraska, the STIHL training in Marble Hill, and the Kawasaki training in Collinsville.”
Speaking of the business’s repair services, Angel said there are no limitations to what her technicians will work on.
“We service everything,” she advised. “We don’t just service the brands we carry.”
According to Angel, she and Gerald both left behind previous careers to make Molenhour Power Equipment their number one focus.
“Before we did this, my husband owned his own construction company, and I had a full-time job. We also had a goat farm with over 300 head of goats,” Angel recalled. “We left all of that behind to do this, so we’re all in. When we first opened, people were asking us how long we thought we’d be here. Our response was always that there was no plan B.”
With more growth on the horizon, Angel insisted she and Gerald will continue their mission to cement Molenhour Power Equipment as one of the region’s premiere resources in outdoor equipment and repair.
“We want to be known as the best go-to place,” Angel said. “We want to be known for having the best customer service. It is very important to us that we make our customers happy.”
