History Comes to Life at Elmwood Speaks

The Centralia Cultural Society will present the 15th annual Elmwood Speaks September 10–13, offering guests the opportunity to hear the stories of those who helped shape Centralia.

During the event, eight local actors will portray real people buried at Elmwood Cemetery, sharing their lives, contributions and connections to the community. Guests will begin at the Centralia Cultural Society, located at 1250 E. Rexford Dr., before being transported to the cemetery. Golf carts will then take guests from one historical figure to the next throughout the grounds.

Since it began in 2011, Elmwood Speaks has introduced audiences to dozens of people from Centralia’s past, including coal miners, doctors, civic leaders and other community members whose stories remain an important part of the city’s history.

Reservations are required, and tickets are $20 per person. Tickets are available online at our.show/elmwood2026. Space is limited, and the event traditionally sells out quickly.

In case of rain, the full production will be held inside the Centralia Cultural Society.
