Drive Through Balloon Glow at Murray Center

Local pilots have come together to kick off Balloon Fest week with the second annual Drive-Through Balloon Glow at Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia, IL.

Led by longtime balloon pilot and Centralia Balloon Fest Pilot Liaison Patty Williams, local pilots are giving back to the community by creating an opportunity to see hot air balloons up close. The event is especially meaningful for individuals who may not otherwise be able to visit the park and experience the balloons during Centralia Balloon Fest.

The drive-through glow is scheduled for Monday, August 17, from 7:30–8:30 p.m., weather permitting. Vehicles must enter the Murray Center grounds from West Fourth Street and exit onto Route 161. Drivers should follow the designated route shown on the accompanying map.

For everyone’s safety and to maintain a steady flow of traffic, attendees must remain in their vehicles and continue moving throughout the route. Please do not stop unless directed to do so by a volunteer.
