Director Rob Jackson returns to the Cultural Society next weekend with his latest murder mystery, Lee Meuler’s “Irritation to a Murder”.

Jackson and assistant director Christana Reed will present four full evenings of delicious food, courtesy of Cygan & Delaney Catering, Inc, non-stop laughs, and of course, head-scratching mystery.

“Irritation to a Murder” will be held April 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th. Doors open at 5:00pm with dinner following at 6:00pm sharp. Show-only seating begins at 7:00pm, and the show starts at 7:30pm. Tickets may be purchased on the CCS website or Facebook page.

No stranger to helming murder mysteries on the CCS stage, Jackson said he originally had a different play in his sights but changed course when auditions left him with the perfect cast for “Irritation”.

“The show I had originally landed on needed seventeen people, I ended up with ten,” Jackson recalled. “It was perfect, because we ended up with five male roles and five female roles, which was exactly what we needed for this cast.”

Jackson’s cast is comprised of regional actors and includes Nathan Standfield, Amanda Taylor, Journey Fox, Cherokee Ray, Molly Wilson, Seth Henderson, John Bochantin, Levi Malan, Katie Meyer, and Kari Brashear.

Written by St. Louis-based playwright, Lee Meuler, “Irritation to a Murder” focuses on the mysterious and untimely passing of accounting aficionado, Godfrey Gatewood, whose family must get to the bottom of his demise.

“I’ve used this playwright before,” Jackson said. “I’ve probably done six of his shows. He’s just a great playwright. His writing is fun, he keeps it light, and it flows well.”

When asked what one can expect from his latest production, Jackson responded, “You can expect a great meal catered by Cygan & Delaney, a cash bar with cocktails and soda, and lots of laughs. It’s pretty non-stop comedy. Like I said, this show is just a lot of fun.”

Jackson wished to thank Cygan and Delaney for their catering services, as well as show sponsors Rent One and The Broadway Tavern.
