For the last five years, Tara and Joe Ramey have offered quality commercial and residential rental spaces to the Greater Centralia Area through Ramey Property Management.
Launched in 2021, the business grew quickly, taking the Rameys from four rental properties in their first year to upwards of 25 units by 2026.
“It went from one house to four in that first year,” recalled Tara. “Other people got word that we bought one residential property, and then they let us know about others. Then came the commercial properties. Everything we own is within Centralia city limits, though we do have one house in Irvington.”
Joe said he and Tara have maintained a simple but important rule since starting their joints business – if they wouldn’t want to live or work in the spaces themselves, then it’s not going into their inventory.
“We want to do our small part to help the community by making sure all of the spaces we rent are nice,” said Joe. “If we are renting an office space, we want to make sure that it’s a space that we ourselves would want to go into every day, week after week. We always ask ourselves, ‘Would we be comfortable here?’ If the answer is no, then it’s not good enough.”
Tara added that customer satisfaction is another must, even if the outcome doesn’t result in a new tenant for Ramey Property Management.
“In the past, I have made sure to pass along information for other people in town I know that have spaces that may work for a potential customer. I tell them that if they can’t rent from me, I would rather see them stay here in town,” said Tara. “I love to see things stay in town because this is where our family is. As much as I love our neighboring communities, I like to see things stay here.”
The Rameys said they expect new residential properties to open in the near future, and that they currently have commercial spaces available in downtown, including an office building at the corner of East 3 rd and Locust.
“A majority of our open spaces are set up for some type of office or clinic,” Joe explained. “That could be salons, chiropractic, dental, or any variety of medical. It could be anything, but that’s currently what it’s set up for.”
The Rameys said all of their available properties can be viewed on their website, and that they may be easily contacted by phone, email, or through the company Facebook page.
