T&L Unique Stones & More and Town & Country Lawn & Landscape Inc. will be featured Exhibitors at the Regional Business Expo at Kaskaskia College.

The owner and operator of two home-based businesses, T&C Unique Stones & More and Town & Country Lawn & Landscape Inc., Steven and Renee Palazzolo keep busy.

Through the customized stone business, which the couple launched in 2017, Palazzolo offers a variety of products made to the customer’s specification.

“We make memorial, residential, and commercial stones. We also do concrete benches,” said Steven. “When we make these custom stones, the customer can pick the size and shape that they want. They will also have the option of light gray or sand color.”

Steven said all of the custom stones can be delivered upon request and are made to sit upright on their own without added support.

“The stones have an acrylic sealer, and there is a hole and one-inch PVC pipe that goes inside of them so that they don’t have to lean against a tree or have something behind them,” Steven explained. “The stones can stand on their own.”

Recalling his time in the custom stone business, Steven said he and Renee were led to the craft through a recommendation and found a passion in the work.

“A relative of ours said that stone was the way to go, and we got into that way,” said Steven. “We love it. We really like using our hands and our imaginations and creativity.”

Years before the custom stone business took off, Steven started the landscaping business, which has since expanded to cover a 30-mile radius.

“We offer shrub trimming, fertilizing, and commercial residential mowing,” said Steven. “We cover the Centralia, Salem, and Mt. Vernon areas.

With two successful home-based businesses in tow, Steven said he hopes to leave something behind through his and Renee’s endeavors.

“As a business owner I want to leave my mark here, and I feel like we’re doing that with these businesses. Especially the stone business,” said Steven. “When people get something with their name on it and you see them smile, that’s great. That’s what we like about doing this.”
