Recreational Improvements in Centralia

The City of Centralia continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving its parks, and most recently installed several new pieces of playground equipment in Fairview Park.

The improvements included equipment for both children and adults and was primarily funded through an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development [OSLAD] Grant obtained by the city.

“The OSLAD grant program will account for over $800,000 for improvements,” said the City of Centralia’s Economic Development Director, Rob Jackson. “We are continuously looking for ways to increase the quality of life for our residents. Visitors can also enjoy the benefits of our improvements and with that, we hope to leave a good impression, so they return.”

In addition to the equipment at Fairview Park, the city has also continued to improve Laura Leake Park and Point Park at Raccoon Lake.

Check out the parks and recreation under the direction of the Centralia Foundation:

  • Carillon Park added new paved pathways, landscaping, and renovations to the bell tower.

  • Centralia Recreation Complex is undergoing improvements to their equipment and facilities.

  • Foundation Park has improved the pathways for the disc golf courses, which are some of the best in the state!
