DRIVE-THRU BALLOON GLOW COMING TO MURRAY CENTER SUNDAY, AUG. 10
In anticipation of the 36th Annual Balloon Fest, a drive-thru Balloon Glow will be held at the Warren G. Murray Center on Sunday, Aug 10.
Beginning at 7:30 PM, the hour-long glow will feature between six-to-eight local balloonists glowing up on the Murray Center grounds. The volunteer event is being organized by longtime pilot, former Balloon Fest chairperson and current Steering Committe member, Patty Williams.
Williams spoke on the glows held in Fairview Park during the pandemic, saying it was a very accessible for people to view the balloons. She said she felt it was time to introduce a drive-thru glow for the residents of Murray Center - where she has historically hosted small flights in the days following Balloon Fest - as well as those in the community with limited mobility.
Spectators will be able to witness the event by taking Highway 161 through the Murray Center property, exiting on W. 4th Street.
This is a drive-thru event only. Spectators are asked to remain inside their vehicles at all times.
