CHAMBER ENCOURAGES “SHOP LOCAL” DURING SMALL BUSINESS MONTH

The Centralia Chamber of Commerce is reminding everyone to “Shop Local” in honor of May being Small Business Month.

Small businesses employ over half of the employees in the Centralia community and make up over half of the Chamber’s membership.

In addition to growing the economy, these small businesses give back to the community as well, supporting various fundraisers and non-profit organizations.

Despite the pull of greater metropolitan areas, numerous retail opportunities await at our small businesses; from dining, apparel, cosmetics and jewelry to home accessories, pet needs, outdoor appliances, and a nice place to have a drink and enjoy live entertainment.

It is also these small businesses that help create the identity of our community. It’s those locally owned, one-of-a-kind retailers that truly help our community stand out from the rest.

Due the increase of retailers in Downtown Centralia, the Chamber is recognizing those who are open until 5:00pm or later on Thursdays and Fridays. Along with those retailers, the Balloon Fest store at the Centralia Chamber office will be open with these extended hours, too!
