BALLOON FEST STEERING COMMITTEE RECEIVES VENDOR UPDATES, MEETS NEW PARK SUPERINTENDENT
The Balloon Fest Steering Committee met Tuesday evening, where it learned food and craft vendor positions were presently full, pending payments.
The craft committee reported a total of 110 applications, while the food committee advised it was set at 20 vendors. Vendor applications are still being accepted, and a waitlist will be created should any openings become available.
The committee was introduced to Ben Nowak, superintendent of Foundation Park, who is taking over the position from longtime park superintendent and Balloon Fest contributor, David Sachtleben.
“I just wanted to say hi. I’m learning, and I’m just kind of absorbing everything and making sure it’s a smooth event, as it has been in the past,” Nowak said.
It was also noted during Tuesday’s meeting that a few pilot positions and balloon sponsorship opportunities were still available at this time.
The Balloon Fest Steering Committee will meet next in June.
