NovaCare Rehabilitation has made its name in the Greater Centralia Area by serving not only the patients but providing additional services to local education and industry.
Center Manager Andre Coleman, an occupational therapist and therapist assistant, said NovaCare has expanded its reach through various affiliations and agreements with local entities, including Kaskaskia College, Swan Corporation, and Graphic Packaging.
“At this facility, we offer occupational therapy, physical therapy, and athletic training, and we have an agreement with Kaskaskia College that we see their student athletes,” Coleman said. “Another piece to what we do is called work strategies. We do a lot in the industrial field. There are facilities that we work hand in hand with to make sure their employees are one hundred percent when they’re working.”
“We do on-site therapy at Nascote Industries,” Coleman continued. “We have a facility there with two staff members that work and operate that. Here in town, we work with Swan Corporation and Graphic Packaging.”
Coleman also noted NovaCare’s location inside The Body Shoppe as having been a benefit to the business.
“The business has definitely grown since we’ve been here, and we the relationship we have with Mike and Tara Fleeman and The Body Shoppe is wonderful. “The clients they have as gym members have stopped in and inquired about therapy, and we have gotten referrals there too.”
Speaking on the next five years of the business, Coleman said he hopes to continue expanding NovaCare’s reach in the Greater Centralia Area and beyond.
“I would love to see us expand further and really have a larger footprint here in not only Centralia but our surrounding communities,” Coleman explained. “We’d love to be able to hire more staff and see more patients. I think that would be a great thing for Centralia.”
When asked what it means to own a business in the community, Coleman said Centralia will always be home.
“When I graduated from Bellmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, I had opportunities to work in that area, but this has always been home to me,” Coleman said. “It’s been nice to be here among people that I grew up with and work with. Most of my immediate family is here as well. To be a part of this community, it just drives me.”
