KUDER PRESENTS “STATE OF THE CITY” AT CHAMBER LUNCH
Centralia Mayor Bryan Kuder presented the 2025 “State of the City” Address the Chamber’s March luncheon at Castle Ridge.
Held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM with catering by Castle Ridge, the luncheon was attended by roughly 150 members of the Centralia community.
The mayor provided updates on the City of Centralia’s several departments and discussed the city’s Comprehensive Plan and new water treatment plant.
Regarding the Comprehensive Plan, the mayor said, “It’s a blueprint for capitol development. The five-year plan is what we’re looking at. What that entails is what we can do better; our infrastructure, our roads, our bike paths, our water treatment, our sewer, our housing, our business retention, our youth retention. That’s what we’re wanting to looking at.”
“Essentially, this comprehensive plan will do that. We’ve had input from the citizens. We’ve had input from business owners, key stakeholders, and the community at large. Our numerous different committees and commissions had their input…and we have come up with is a plan that we believe can drive the city of Centralia into a bright light.”
When discussing the new water treatment plant, Kuder praised EFI Solutions for the work they have performed on the project thus far.
“The projection is that in 2026 we'll turn the lights on and flip the switch,” said the mayor. “The best thing about Centralia is our workforce and our companies and their dedication… [EFI is] one of the premiere companies in the United States as far as building water treatment plants…. we are fortunate enough to have that company in our town, that is actually going to help us build our water treatment plant.
Kuder ended his address by praising the city’s employees, saying “I have people coming up to me all the time [and say] ‘What you’re doing for the city, great job.’ It’s not me. The city administrators, those are the ones that make this city. Those are the police officers in the squad cars, the firemen in the firetrucks. Those are the ones that at 2 a.m. in the morning, when its winter and 12 degrees outside, they're in a ditch trying to stop a water main break. Those are the ones who do the good job.”
At the top of the lunch, Macz Funeral Homes made a $1,000 donation the to the Centralia Youth Football League, which was accepted by CYFL president, Israel Fontanez.
