Intermountain Electronics (IE), in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, hosted a luncheon on Wednesday, with IE officials offering an update on company progress and offering tours to the Chamber members in attendance.

General manager, Tim Benedict, spoke on the company’s IE’s present and future growth, announcing that plans have recently been confirmed for a sizeable building expansion that will more than double the size of its current location.

“We did get the final approval last week for the expansion [of the IE location] which will more than double the size of the facility here,” Benedict said. “I said when I took over that I wanted an expansion in ten years, and we’re doing it in three. That’s with the help of everybody here, my managers, and the help of the City [of Centralia].”

Benedict said the building expansion, which is expected to be over 100,000 square feet, will see between 20 and 30 new hires in 2026. Furthermore, Benedict said the company has hired roughly 80 employees since he became general manager in 2022.

“We’re in pretty exciting times,” said Benedict. “We’re all growing, we’re all expanding. We just keep moving forward. [The market] is doing fantastic and booming, so we’re glad to be able to do it right here in Centralia.”

IE manufactures custom-engineered electrical control, power distribution, and process solutions for clients in the industrial field.

Wednesday’s lunch was catered by Subway.
