WESTSIDE LAUNDRY HOLDS RIBBON CUTTING FOR CENTRAL CITY LOCATION
Westside Laundry held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 19, at its new Central City location at 1230 N. Poplar St.
Led by Tyler and Traci Rueter, who own the business with family members Curtis, Helen, Brad and Tisha Rueter; the ceremony was attended by members of the Village of Central City, fellow chamber members and devoted patrons of the local laundry business.
Before the ribbon cutting, Tyler advised the journey toward completing the new laundromat was a long one, saying the business was originally planned to open last fall.
“This has been a long haul. We were supposed to be open forever ago. There were a lot of challenges along the way,” Tyler said, thanking those who made the new location possible. “It truly took a family effort. Outside of the family, we had a lot of different people helping us.”
On behalf of his family, Tyler thanked those who assisted in making the new location a reality, as well as the staff of the first Westside Laundry location in Centralia.
The new location is self-service only and offers a variety of washing machines, including some Tyler advised were the largest coin-operated washing machines in the state of Illinois.
The building will feature free Wi-Fi, a massage chair for guests, vending machines, and state-of-the-art security system.
Last wash is at 9:30 PM, with doors will locking at 11:00 PM.
Through its Centralia and Central City locations, Westside Laundry provides needed services to the communities within the ten-mile radius.
