CHS HOLDS DEDICATION FOR ORPHANS STAINED GLASS

Centralia High School recently held a dedication ceremony for the Orphans stained glass from the former school building.

The glass from the former high school building’s famed Trout Gymnasium was transferred to the new high school gym through a partnership between the CHS Alumni Association and City Hope Church.

“Today is just another example of how our wonderful alumni have stepped up by saving an iconic piece of artwork that is rich in history for Centralia High School and the community,” said CHS Principal, Reid Shipley.

Shipley said the project should be fully completed in within the next month or two, roughly one year after the project, spearheaded by Jan Monken of the Alumni Association, began.

Superintendent Chuck Lane also spoke at the dedication, as did mayor Bryan Kuder, who issued a proclamation on behalf of the City of Centralia.
