REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 65TH ANNUAL GOLF PLAE DAY
Registration has opened for the Centralia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Golf Plae Day, which will celebrate 65 years on the green Friday, May 3 at Greenview Golf Course.
Beginning with check-in at 10:30 am and a shotgun start at 11:00 am, the all-inclusive, 18-hole golf scramble will once again provide excellent networking and team-building opportunities to each of its teams and participants.
Chamber director Marcus Holland said the golf scramble serves as a great way for businesses to connect in a new environment, outside of the office and meeting halls.
“The chamber Golf Plae Dae is an opportunity for people to get out of the office and be comfortable, to not be in a meeting or at a lunch and be able to network with other business professionals throughout the day,” said chamber director Marcus Holland. “The Plae Dae is very useful, whether businesses play together as a team building exercise; businesses bring their own customers to play; or the golfers interact with other businesses before, during, and after they play.”
This year’s Plae Dae will also boast several sponsorship opportunities, with two new sponsorships available to reach the up to 144 golfers and 36 teams participating in the event.
Sponsoring the golf tournament allows a unique opportunity to reach those business,” Holland said. “The new sponsorships this year include our Beach Sponsorship, which is just like a hole sponsorship, but we are going to put your business’s sign on a bunker. We are also doing Souvenir Sponsors, where you can set up a tent, interact with the golfers, and you might even have some free-bees or some souvenirs for them to have.”
Speaking on the event’s 2024 resort theme, Holland said, “It's an all-inclusive Plae Dae, and we want to make it feel like a resort, so we are asking people to wear resort-wear and take pictures at sandy locations.”
