Journaling Workshop for Ages 12-18
Monday, July 10 & Monday, July 24, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Interested in journaling? Already journaling but need inspiration? Come to our journaling workshop for teens, where we discuss all things journaling, like diary keeping, bullet journaling, and 'Destroy this Journal' projects.
Bring a journal you'd like to start with, but don't worry if you don't have one--we've got you covered. This event will be in the Monken Activity Room on the Library’s 2nd floor (accessible via elevator and stairs).
Book Club for Adults
Tuesday, July 25, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Our book this month is Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. This debut novel is an exploration of friendship, reckoning, and hope, tracing a widow's unlikely connection with a giant Pacific octopus.
If you are not yet a member, be sure to fill out a member form, especially if you want us to hold a copy of the book for you!
Weekly Crafts & Activities for Kids
July 3 to July 8: Collage Journal Cover (Decorate a small blank book to start a journal)
July 10 to July 15: Kinetic Butterflies (Read “Dreamers” by Yuyi Morales and then make your own butterfly to represent your voice)
July 17 to July 22: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Craft (Read the book and then make a coconut tree with the letters of the alphabet)
July 24 to July 29: One Word Art (Choose a word that has meaning or value to you and create a small poster with that word)
July 31 to August 5: Empower Poster (Create a small poster with descriptive empowering words as a reminder of how wonderful you are)
