On Friday, March 10th, 2023, from 3 PM - 7 PM, the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics, hosted by Centralia Police and Centralia High School, will take place at CHS in the rear parking lot. This plunge will be in a retainer pool set up in the rear parking lot. Within this family-friendly event, there will be several food trucks, a DJ, a craft fair in the Annex building, and several games set out! Anyone is invited to sign up to plunge or even attend! Here's what you need to do and know:

To join the plunge squad: https://soill.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=13351. Simply click on the attached URL and join the "Centralia High School hosted by CPD" team. It will be one big team and you and your friends can separate to plunge together at the event and even create your own team name unofficially with each other. 

To donate to the cause: You can access the link above and donate to any plunger you wish. You can also write a check to "Special Olympics Illinois" and drop it off at CPD, with special attention to CHS School Resource Officer Mickey Jader. If you are a parent of a student at CHS, they can bring it to the school and drop it off to SRO Mickey Jader as well.

If you want to attend the event but don't want to plunge: Admission into the event is $5/person (cash only). 

Many of our officers will be plunging in this event. Come out and join them for a great evening of family-fun and all the while supporting the Special Olympics athletes of Illinois!
