After months of planning, AutumnFest is scheduled for September 10, 2022. It begins with the “Never Forget” Memorial 5K Run. The committee has been working hard to ensure that there is something for everyone during this important event for our parish and school. It not only helps to keep us financially solvent, but it provides an opportunity for the parish and school to come together and celebrate our faith.
The evening festivities begin with the Knights of Columbus Blue Mass at 4:00 p.m. During the Mass, we will honor those men and women who serve as first responders. Immediately following Mass, to remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, we will gather in the Courtyard for a short memorial service. The Centralia Fire Department, American Legion, and St. Mary School children will be on hand to remember those who died. Little Egypt Brass Band will play patriotic music before and after the service.
The evening festivities kick into full speed at the Midway (School Parking Lot) as most stands will be open. The food tent will feature delicious BBQ and Smoked entrees to enjoy. Smoked shredded BBQ, brat links, and hotdogs will be served all evening. You can make it a sandwich or plate. The sides include baked beans, cole slaw, chips, nachos, and cheese.
To enhance the evening, DJ Music will fill the air until 8:00 p.m., when Stir of Echoes, takes the stage until 11:00 p.m. They provide a collection of great music for everyone to enjoy.
No AutumnFest would be complete without the beer tent! Draft beer will be available by the cup (or wristbands can be purchased). Along with the beer tent, stop by beer poker, and try your luck, great prizes are to be won. All the popular event stands are back this year. The cake walk and basket walk will feature delicious homemade cakes and unique baskets to take home with you.
No parish gathering would be complete without entertainment for the kids. The St. Mary PTO will have games of a challenge for kids of all ages to try their luck and win a wonderful prize. There will be bounce houses available to have some fun! All the traditional favorites, soda, drinks, and snacks will be available.
