Explore Kaskaskia College Day to be held on April 1
Kaskaskia College is hosting “Explore KC Day” on Friday, April 1 st , 2022, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The event is free and open to any high school student, parents, or other potential students that wish to visit KC and learn more about the college.
“We are so excited to host prospective students and families to campus,” said KC Dean of Enrollment Services Amy Troutt. “This is a great way to help you decide if KC is the right fit for you. Most high school juniors and seniors get at least one planned excused absence for a college visit, so we are hoping that several will work with their high schools to take advantage of those college days and spend the day with us!”
Attendees will learn more about the college’s services, including apprenticeships, clinicals, transfer partners, student life, and career pathways. The college has a wide range of student success resources that features free tutoring, online therapy, and disability services. Attendees will visit programs of their choosing to learn more about the different departments and degrees available, meet with faculty, and tour classroom areas.
Parents will hear from a panel of college representatives on financial aid, academic excellence, and health and safety. Participants for Explore KC Day can register at https://bit.ly/3KLQ2Nz. The first 150 registrants will receive a KC swag bag. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as free dessert from Fantastick Pops.
The college will also be hosting a Transfer Fair during the afternoon of April 1, 2022, from noon-2:00 p.m. Representatives from over 17 colleges and universities will be in attendance to help students learn more about transferring beyond Kaskaskia College and planning for their future careers.
