Kaskaskia College Music Department to Host Winter Instrumental Concert on
March 1
The Kaskaskia College Music Department presents its annual winter instrumental concert on Tuesday,
March 1, 2022 at 7:30 PM in Kaskaskia College’s Jane Knight Auditorium. The concert features the
Kaskaskia College Concert and Jazz Bands under the direction of Professor Cliff Jourdan.
Concert Band Highlights include:
“Highland Dance” by Larry MacTaggart, Sammy Nestico’s “Salute to American Jazz” (featuring “A Night
in Tunisia,” “St. Louis Blues,” “It Don’t Mean a Thing,” and “Birdland”), “Caccia and Chorale” by Clifton
Williams, “Amor de mi Alma” by Z. Randall Stroope arranged by Frederick Umar and “Tritsch-Tratsch
Polka” by Johann Strauss arranged by Alfred Reed.
Jazz Band Highlights include:
Glenn Miller’s “Caribbean Clipper,” “Invitation” by Erik Morales, “Reverend Bob” by Doug Beach, Sammy
Nestico’s “After You’ve Gone” and “The Rotten Kid” by Buddy Rich.
The concert is free and open to the public.
