A Proclamation will be held in memory of Dr Charles K. Fischer, .M.D. as the Founder of The Surgery Center of Centralia in 1985.

A memorial Plaque has been placed at the Facility. The Mayor, city officials, and business leaders will gather on December 7 at 11:00am to honor his contribution of providing not only the first free-standing Surgicenter in the Quad County area, but one of the first in the State of Illinois. Dr. Fischer's vision was to bring a cost saving facility and a choice in outpatient surgery to this area.

Dr. Fischer was in Private practice in Centralia from 1968 to 2004. Among his many accomplishments, he is remembered for delivering approximately 7,000 babies in the area.
